Stressed about career in computer science and engineering
I am pursuing cse, I am good in frontend web dev but I don't know what exactly I want to do. I, not very often but sometimes feel very stressed about this, job, passion, career, etc etc. And I know no one exactly knows, everyone's interest, job, career change atleast in most of the case. I know that I am interested in technology, and in the end I will figure something out. But when there is more than one path to follow for example:
1. To master in the things you have been doing and fairly interested in.
2. To follow something else also with the thing you have been doing, cause u want to see what is there.
But it always happens with me I feel stressed what if I had taken the other path.
I don't know exactly know if I have shared my situation properly.
But thanks for your reply in advance

Honestly that curiosity is exactly what you need, especially in the beginning. You don't know where you might end up or what sort of niche you might discover that you didn't know existed. I started out by teaching myself javascript and java, did c# for a while, and now I work professionally with typescript and cpp in a super weird tech stack that i never thought existed
Be curious and try out different things and you'll know when something really sticks with you
Web tech goes far far deeper than you might think lol
I've been working with web tech for years and only 1 of those projects was an actual website lol. I made ms teams plugins, electron apps, game uis... Lots of uses of javascript, none of which were a website
And if you're worried that you might also find interest in other fields, combining technology with other fields is great! If you can bring together programming skills and expertise in other fields, that's gonna be very valuable. Those kinds of hybrid experts are actually very rare and in high demand
I was learning js and was interested in game dev, so decided to do a project on web game dev.
But then I realized that game dev have so many things that I never heard of . So I have to understand, go through all of them to get the basics.
So then the fear crept in "I could have used that time to go more in web dev or back-end", "get better to actually get an intership "yata yata.
There's no need to micro manage like that. Just have fun with it
Thanks these discussions give me ease
Even abandoned projects are usefulm you learn a lot from them
Btw you yourself also went through these things, then how did u tackle stress of getting a job or internship
I know I am interested in getting to know technology but sometimes stress makes it difficult to actually enjoy learning
I never really worried about it much. I believed that if i do good work, i wouldn't have to worry. And that seemed to work
So how are doing now
Ok don't reply if you are busy I was just curious
I'm doing really good. My hard work paid off big time and i'm in a very comfortable spot now where my carreer will only go up
That first step is the absolute hardest
But once you're in, you're in
