Auto-Login has given me multiple problems upon just wanting to try it out
I am quite burned out already trying to fix this so i'll just share it here to see if someone can help me somehow
So basically everything was working fine until i wanted to try autologin, i know there was a command for it but i thought going on the settings panel would be the same thing anyways, i activated it and at first i didn't pick on which enviorement to have it be used, rebooted, stared at a black screen for an hour, ended up spending hours with ChatGPT trying to figure this out (I know that can be a foolish decision but i kinda panicked after waiting so long), thought it was about Docker but might not be ... and once i realized about the startplasma command to jump to desktop like all going back to normal now every time i reboot something weird happens that's attached to native steam, at one point once i disabled autologin it was constantly forcing me to login through steam big picture mode even though i didn't want it, i had to manually open terminal with the CTRL+ALT+F3 command to start the real desktop
Except when i did that something was off, the steam that came with the OS and not the flatpak one i think was sticky, i tried closing it and it closed the whole session with the message in the corner that upon login i would jump into steam big picture mode until i manually force it to get me to plasma
And i know in the screenshot it looks like i could just pick plasma wayland but it wouldn't stick to it for some reason and i even followed the KDE Wallet instructions to just have blank password which didn't help or i don't know if it even do anything
And now something strange is going on with the power situation, IT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE and during the moment it forced me to use steam big picture setup/installation it was constantly saying 'Low on battery, keep your system charged' like i was using a steam deck? even though when i installed this i wanted it to be on desktop? the main problem which i dunno if it's consistent but after a peroid of time being inactive it just would my system to sleep? i already set it up before the auto login thing to never go to sleep and i never want it to be asleep because my internet cuts off until i reboot my router which i always have to every time i reboot
I recently updated the system i dunno if that has anything to do with this
I dump all of this info because i wanna try to give as much and also condense context as i can to see if a solid solution can be found ... Steam flatpak works overall better than native steam for me and can i just get rid of the native one for starters? or is it part of the OS itself? because i can ignore it but if it becomes a problem on each reboot i don't want it anymore and i rather stick with the flatpak one
There could be more info i haven't explained but i don't wanna drag this much more and i wanna see if anyone can understand what i said and no, i no longer wanna have auto login ever again after this, i rather keep using passwords and safely upon login just jump into plasma wayland always
Just in case i use a PC Desktop with NVIDIA graphics card and Ryzen 7 processor
i almost feel like hiring a technician but i don't know any linux ones on my latin spanish speaking region
