Bazzite fails to rpm-ostree update
Had Bazzite installed for months now but have not been able to update it correctly for a similar period of time.. Firstly, running rpm-ostree update gives the following error
error: Updating rpm-md repo 'fedora-cisco-openh264-debuginfo': cannot update repo 'fedora-cisco-openh264-debuginfo': Cannot prepare internal mirrorlist: Status code: 404 for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-cisco-openh264-debug-43&arch=x86_64 (IP: 152.2.23.104); Last error: Status code: 404 for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-cisco-openh264-debug-43&arch=x86_64 (IP: 35.158.105.37)
Any ideas how to solve please ???

Solution
you have way too much stuff layered, use
rpm-ostree reset and then update againand consider rebasing to a verified image
yeah, it's too much. you're not supposed to have them in bazzite
please reconsider redownloading your apps via bazaar. and I see nvidia package there, I'd suggest switching to nvidia image
for your reference https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/
Installing and Managing Applications - Bazzite Documentation
Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices.
alot of what I see in there can just be installed from bazaar like GIMP, discord, peazip, calculator
Rclone Shuttle, Virtual Machine Manager, using Gnome Disks instead of gparted (or gparted live iso if one must)
i would heavily recommend removing all of the nvidia packages and rebasing to bazzite's nvidia images instead
yeah
i have no idea why you'd do anything else
and since i noticed you also need libvirt packages, consider rebasing to bazzite-dx-nvidia and getting rid of those too
Thank you for all your comments... Question for you all but I think I knowwhat the answer will be. My laptop is a dual boot with crappy windows. When booting into Bazzite 75% of the time I get to the grub menu then select BZ and within about 10 secs the laptop goes off/shutsdown abrupltly. Do people think this could be because of the amount of layering/Nvidia stuff loading ????????? Never seems to happen when selecting Windowz
Probably
Layering has made your install unstable by the nature of layering.
Impossible to know without logs
Thank you everyone.. Reset the rebased to Nvidia as suggested
