Drawing Tablet mismatched to Steam Deck screen (plus question about creating backup versions of OS)

I have a steam deck with Bazzite installed and I want to make it a more portable art machine. I have a small One by Wacom tablet I plug in. When it's connected to an external monitor it works perfectly out of the box. But when connected to the deck by itself, there's an issue. If I move the stylus up, the mouse cursor goes left. I'm pretty sure this is because the Deck's display is a vertical one rotated 90°. Going into the regular settings (KDE version of bazzite) none of the settings change this behavior. How do I fix this? Bonus question: I've been recommended to download OpenTabletDriver and disable the built-in tablet drivers. I'm down for that, but I want to make sure that, in case I break something in my computer, I want to be able to quickly undo it and bring it back to normal. How do I set up a backup/recovery thing like that?
