Help needed: ASUS PG27AQDP 480Hz OLED feels floaty / blurry in Valorant (bad tracking, missed flicks
I need help with my ASUS PG27AQDP (1440p 480Hz OLED). I upgraded from a 240Hz IPS and my aim in Valorant feels much worse. It’s not normal input lag — the aiming feels floaty, blurry, not crisp.
When I peek someone, I know exactly where the enemy is, but I still miss shots. Tracking feels soft, flicks feel inconsistent, micro-adjustments feel delayed. The motion looks like subtle motion blur/MPRT smear even with ELMB off. On my old 240Hz IPS, I aim MUCH better.
My PC is not the problem:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D, DDR5, RTX 3070, stable 480–500 FPS, Windows 11, DP 1.4.
Current monitor settings I tried:
2560×1440 @ 480Hz
HDR Off
VRR / G-Sync / Adaptive-Sync Off
V-Sync Off
GameVisual: Racing Mode
Outer Dimming Off
Local Dimming On
ELMB Off
DSC On
RGB 4:4:4 Full Range
Valorant settings:
Fullscreen Exclusive
NVIDIA Reflex On + Boost
MSAA 2x
No Distortion, No Bloom, No unnecessary filters
Even after all this, the aim still feels floaty and worse than my 240Hz IPS.
My questions:
Should I play at 1440p or 1080p for best motion clarity and lowest latency on this OLED?
Are there any specific OSD settings on the PG27AQDP that improve motion clarity WITHOUT adding latency?
Anyone using this monitor for Valorant or competitive shooters — can you share your full settings?
I don’t care about HDR or image quality. I ONLY want:
lowest latency, best tracking, zero floaty feeling, clean motion for competitive Valorant.
Any help is appreciated.

Someone help guys?
Reset your Monitor settings
To basic
And put your hz to 480 in Windows Settings
I did this too
Are you able to try it on another device?
When i use my old monitor
I play fine
Good tracking
But with the new oled 27 inch 480hz 1440p i play bad
So bad
Change hz to 240 and try in a deathmatch
the hz is not the problem
you used to play on 1920x1080 ?
Did you changed you Valorant settings to 1440P
Yep i did everything, the problem i notice; the game going like more slowly, dificult to track enemies o handle recoil, also micro ajuste imposible. Idk why, when i play with the Aoc 240hz 24inch IPS 1ms 1080p, i play insane. And the oled is more money and high resolution, hz and ms… i really feeling bad. Need help please.
