Having one distant horizon map in 2 game instances

Launcher: modrinth app 0.10.20 / fabric 0.17.2
Game version: 1.20.1
DH version: 2.3.4-b-1.20.1
Playing on a private server at home.

Hey, guys, I hope you can help me.

Pre story:
As far as I understand, distant horizon does not work on the server for this old Minecraft version.
I can preload the chunks ( with chunky for example ) on the server, but still have to move there for myself, so that my client can unfold the terrain and I can see something there.

Story:
In a few days I'm ordering a new laptop, which will be a bit complicated, since I'm going to work with an eGPU setup.
Because I don't want to change the graphics settings all the time when I switch the mode ( playing with, or without the eGPU ), I was thinking of installing 2 different instances of the game and change the settings for each instance.

The actual problem:
Is it possible to tell distant horizon that it should take and write it's data from and to a different instances location ( so that I have only one folder for two different game instances )?

Furthermore:
That would also be very good since we have two different Ip addresses, we connect to, depending on if we're at home and using the local ip, or if we're outside and connect over the internet.
I understand that distant horizon thinks that's two different worlds we're connecting to, but it's a bit of a fight for us.

Best regards and thanks for the wonderful mod.
