Witcher 3 is not launching.

So I have just installed heroic yesterday, downloaded witcher 3 with the latest proton and when I click play it says it's launching, then it says that it's playing and goes back to the button where I can launch the game.
The game doesn't turn on at all.
I'm on linux mint, fairly new install since it's just the third day that I have been using linux.
I have tried reinstalling the game and the drivers for my card, also a few different proton versions, including valve ones.
After switching to Wine-GE-latest I have got as far as the in game launcher from cdprojektRED.

no, I cannot reproduce it, I'm on the same linux mint version and using heroic flatpak, I tried deleting the .local/share/umu folder and it was recreated just fine

I just realized I'm not using that same linux mint version (I thought I was up-to-date), I'm on 21.3 and the logs in all threads are with 22.2, I'll try to update during the week and test again if it's a mint 22.2 issue

ok no, I now tried with 22.2 mint and heroic flatpak and I can't reproduce the issue, I tried both having the ~/.local/share/umu~/.local/share/umu folder there before the upgrade and also deleting that folder and it gets created just fine for me

Yeah, I think once we see the error happen again for a user that's not on Mint, then we can really completely rule out that possibility.

And if you ever see this issue again though, to help with support, what I can do is provide an umu-run binary that will make the error message a bit more clearer than ERROR: [Errno -1] Unknown error -1: 'SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper' -> 'steamrt3'ERROR: [Errno -1] Unknown error -1: 'SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper' -> 'steamrt3'. According to rename(2), -1-1 can indicate a lot of different things. See https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/rename.2.html#top_of_page.

By having an error message that shows what kind it is, we'll know a bit more precisely why it happened.
