Black screen at random times, post-install
Dual boot but with a clean drive, Ryzen 5600X, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, bazzite gnome with kernel Linux 6.17.7-ba19.fc43.x86_64. Dual booting hasn't been an issue at all once I wiped the destination drive.
I chose the nvidia gnome build and there WAS a warning about it not being stable but I figured pretty old card it'll probably work? So if that's the problem just let me know, I guess there's no workaround for older nvidia hardware - would appreciate alternatives if that's the case.
Anyway, the basic problem is ... the system will just black screen. It's not a crash, I can see the power indicator steady light. Sometimes I can Crtl Alt F3 into a shell ... sometimes. Not sure what to do from there, searches haven't been fruitful on whether there's a gui/shell restart command for bazzite (my very old friend startx doesn't work).
Sometimes it's on firing up Steam, sometimes a browser (so maybe connected to new window activity?), the last one was me just walking away for a bit (maybe connected to window lock activity?) - black screen. I am guessing something is calling an unsupported video driver function and the whole thing just dies, with the rest of the system blithely idling along. I have NOT had this happen in a game so far which makes me think it's a desktop rendering problem, but I've only been running bazzite for a few days. Probably 6 of these black screens so far and I'm running out of ideas. I like bazzite but this is not a working system at the moment.
