Memory Leak in games
So... I don't remember when exactly it started, but the problem is that the RAM is slowly filling up, sometimes it will clear itself, sometimes it will be so full that the whole system will start to stutter very badly until it completely freezes. One of the options is alt + tab for a few / a dozen or so seconds, the RAM will then free up and you can continue playing until it overflows again. I monitor the amount of RAM via MangoHUD, more demanding games fill up the memory faster. I had pre-caching shaders turned on on Steam but I turned it off thinking it might cause these problems. Lowering the graphics settings doesn't solve the problem either, but it slows down the process a bit. system and drivers are up to date. I tried different versions of proton, it doesn't help either. temperatures are normal, it is not caused by overheating. I really need ideas from you on what to do next because I've run out of them.
