you're not the only one with this issue, see: Spectacle screen recording creating unplayable & small files
will repost my "solution":
There is no proper fix for this yet. There's some uncertainty as to whether the issue belongs to Spectacle itself, KDE, or nvidia drivers (if you use those)
Has been reported on github at https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/3582
They suggest rolling back to an older version of bazzite as a temporary fix.
Otherwise other screen recorders, e.g. https://flathub.org/en/apps/io.github.seadve.Kooha seem to still work
