(Wireless Dongle) Xbox Elite 2 chat pad no longer works.

Using the Xbox elite v2 controller via the new smaller wireless dongle. The chatpad used to work fine. I could type and all was well. Now the chatpad initializes (the green button on the bottom left lights up to indicate activation.) but I can't type anything. Backlight works, but no keypresses are registered.
