Resonance doubt for benzene derivatives

For a benzene derivative like aniline or phenol, we know that it is involved in resonance
My question is if the lone pair of N or O also gets involved in resonance with the 6 pi electrons of benzene, wouldnt it make it a 8 electron system, does making it anti aromatic?
I mean it works exactly like this if it were an anion instead of lp, then why it isnt true here
