Hi everyone,
I’m having a persistent issue with desktop icon management on Bazzite KDE (Wayland). Every time I reboot, my icons lose their positions. Instead of staying on my primary monitor (Left), they all migrate to my secondary monitor (Right) and get rearranged into a grid.
My Setup:
OS: Bazzite (KDE Plasma)
Session Type: Wayland
GPU: AMD RX 9070
Monitors: Dual setup (Primary: Left / Secondary: Right)
What I’ve tried so far:
- Display Settings: Confirmed the left monitor is set as "Primary".
- Locking Icons: Tried the "Lock icons" setting in the desktop context menu, but they still jump to the other screen.
- Physical Cables: I swapped the monitor cables at the back of my GPU to see if hardware priority was the cause, but the issue persists.
- Config Reset: I manually deleted the plasma config files using rm (specifically plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc) to let the system regenerate them, but it didn't change anything.
Current Situation:
Because of this, I am currently forced to leave my desktop completely empty (no icons at all) because I can't keep them organized. It seems Plasma "forgets" which screen is the desktop container for the icons upon wake-up or power management events.
Has anyone found a way to "force" the desktop config to stick to the primary display ID, or is there another specific config file I should look into?
Thanks for your help!
