Hi everyone!
I started playing Alan Wake 2 yesterday on my Bazzite 43 PC and have been encountering some issues:
- During cutscenes audio is out of sync + loading icon in top right spins for a bit
If I let the cutscene run the audio doesn't sync and, sometimes, it "stretches" like it's 4x speed - the only workaround is to pause as soon as a cutscene starts and wait for the loading to stop. I'm not understanding why, it looks like it's an old problem from my Google research (posts range from a year to two years ago).
- General textures are not loaded/rendered fully, especially when a new chapter/location loads (eg: in chapter 1 the FBI jacket was low quality, then after a minute it fully rendered; same thing with the map and ground details like foliage)
I'm assuming both errors are mostly on shader compilation, but I don't understand if I can do anything about it.
I have the game on Epic, downloaded on Heroic (v2.18.1) on my M2 NVME drive and using this config:
- GE-Proton-latest (which is GE-Proton-10-28)
- Esync, Fsync enabled
- Auto install/update DXVK-NVAPI on Prefix
- Mangohud enabled
My hardware components are:
- Ryzen 5600x
- 32GB DDR4
- Radeon 9070XT 16GB
- Bazzite 43 with latest updates applied
- UW 3440x1440@175hz
Has anyone faced the same problems? Should I try another Proton that runs better? Thank you in advance!
