How long are your buttoned shirts?

Trying to figure out the proper length I should be going for with these. Ive found that a t-shirt length of around 24.5" (+/-.5, Im 5'6 for reference) lands exactly where I want it to, but for buttoned shirts off the rack the shortest ive ever seen at all is like 26". Up through 27 is usually ok but sometimes I feel like they extend too far down and it looks off proportionally.
Do you guys usually have yours go pretty far down (like the bottom of your fly) or is it better to match the lengths on those?
