[Mac] cannot log into any store

Hi, I've been using Heroic succesfully before on my M1 MBP, but on my new M4 Mac Studio, I cannot log into ANY store. GOG spins indefinitely after entering password, EGS just returns to Heroic's store selection screen, EGS Alternative way always returns Error, try a different code.
- Heroic 2.18.1
- Tahoe 26.2
- no logs are visible in Heroic, despite they NOT being disabled ("No log file found")
- completely removing Heroic including its Application Support, rebooting and reinstalling did NOT fix the issue

thank you! running from terminal did reveal there was a permissions issue with logs. after
sudo mkdir -p "/Users/stooovie/Library/Logs/Heroic Games Launcher"
and
sudo chown -R stooovie:staff "/Users/stooovie/Library/Logs"
the logs are now being created and login works. super weird
