I'm dragging images from an SD card into Immich v2.3.1 (yep, will try an update). In the process I deleted them and re-uploaded, but the images are handled as duplicates and not re-uploaded, and the images seem to be hidden in the trash.
The long story:
- I dragged 450-odd images into Immich - I realised I had not rotated the portrait shots before upload, so I closed the window to cancel the uploads (could not see a "cancel upload" button, figured closing window would work fine to interrupt). - I then opened a new Immich window and selected the photos by day in Immich, and used the menu "Delete" item to delete them - Then I attempted to re-upload the images - On second upload, the rotated images worked, but the images uploaded unchanged were handled as duplicates - When this happens, there's a link on the duplicate upload to the existing image - The links point to

/trash/97f93da1-be05-4cd5-9195-dd586a449ee0
etc! - But if I visit
/trash
/trash
I see it's "empty", with "Trashed photos and videos will show up here."
So the images are detected as duplicates, and in the trash in some undiscoverable way. Not sure how to handle retrieving them.
Is this a known issue? How can I make Immich not reject / skip uploads of images that are in the trash?
TBH what I may do is rotate all the images 360° and see if that produces enough change to accept them as new uploads ...
