Realtek R8126 issues - 1Gbit capped

Good day,
I have been experiencing an issue with Bazzite where my network card is unable to reach full speeds.
It's a realtek r8126 chip and the commendation was to rebase to the testing image. This did not solve it.
Eventually I tried to use the dkms driver by awesometic and this helped for a short bit, but i had to unload the r8169 module every time and then load the self built and signed (i need secure boot for work related vms) r8126 mod. When trying to fix this permanently by blacklisting the 8169 mod and then trying to insert the 8126 mod it didn't help. So i reverted these settings. After that I simply can't get above 1gbit speeds.
Additionally I performed the following :
sudo ethtool --set-eee enp7s0 eee off
sudo ethtool -K enp7s0 tso off gso off gro off
sudo ethtool -s enp7s0 speed 2500 duplex full autoneg on
in order to achieve full speeds (yes i know it's a 5gbit card, but it's connected to a 2,5 gbit port right now.
The speeds advertised in Bazzite and on my router are 2,5gbit. Everything seems like it is fine and should work.
The NICs PHY has also been cleared through a full power cycle, but to no avail
Additionally the router has been power cycled several times as well.
Is there anything that i can still do without having to reinstall Bazzite entirely?
