I would like to add events to the KDE default calendar, but I cannot seem to (there really is no option, I have checked and checked).
So, I thought... ok, I will install another calendar. I installed Merkuro.
I can run through the workflow to add events on Merkuro, but nothing happens.
I then tried KOrganiser, which gives some more verbose error messages, unfortunately I cannot see them right now, but I will come back and add more details. Something like 'no valid collection selected', but I cannot select anything, the dropdown menu doesn't appear.
Both programs are Flatpaks.
I have tried making an empty dummy .ics file and pointing Merkuro and KOrganiser at it, but this doesn't help.
The upshot is, currently NO calendar will work properly for me. I have to say, this is extremely frustrating - this should be fairly simple, but I'm at my wits' end.
I wonder if it's because the default calendar depends on Akonadi, and something has gone wrong there, but the file is still locked by Akonadi?
Two other posts I found on the same or similar topics. One got no answer while the other doesn't seem quite relevant to me, but I will check it again tomorrow when I've had some sleep. Maybe installing with rpm-ostree will fix this issue.
