I just can't get 96KHz/24 audio to work

Hey guys.
Been using Bazzite for a while now and am now trying to get high-res audio to work, but I am running into a lot of trouble X_X
I do in fact have some audio, that is encoded as 96KHz/24Bit FLAC, but playing it results in extremely distorted audio. HOWEVER, only with these files. Normal MP3s, that are running at 44.1 or 48KHz still work fine, so Pipewire does switch correctly between rates.
I guess, I'll start with the hard/software info:
I have checked the supported bit- and sample-rates and the output does support s24le 196000 rates. DAC does too, according to the manufacturer at least.
During playback, I ran pactl list sources and the output KIND OF checks out:
