mouse won’t connect via bluetooth

I’ve tried this solution here: My Bluetooth Doesn't Show any Devices.
and have also previously gotten my headphones to connect. Mouse is turned on and searching, and bluetooth on the computer is scanning, yet it won’t connect. Any ideas?
