Monkey patches are last-resort. A Hook is likely the best choice.

you mean like bootstrap in its entirety?
its one of those things that while you could do that, you're adding a lot of bloat to your package.

You mean test on both 0.6.x and 0.7.x? You can do multiple separate installs, separate data folders, etc. But I think most devs just don't support anything but the latest version.

Ah, yeah. I just have a couple different data folders and different install directories. There are more elaborate options though.
