if i were to set immich on the same drive that docker is downloaded and then change the .env to go to my HDD and then provide the logs would that be helpful?

But when i change the .env file it doesn’t work. Apparently because i don’t have the mounted HDD bound to docker. But im told that i have to bind the HDD in the docker-compose.yml

so come to find out docker app has been changed to where that feature has been turned off. ive been told i need to bind the mount but thats where im confused. if i try to just edit the .env file and it doesnt work but then im told i need to edit the docker-compose.yml file but in the docker-compose.yml it says dont change it here. make the change on the .env file

Error response from daemon: Mounts denied:
The path /volumes/8tbHDD/database is not shared from the host and is not known to Docker.
You can configure shared paths from Docker -> Preferences... -> Resources -> File Sharing.
