De-duplication while recreating albums
I am running Immich 1.129.0 on TrueNAS Scale 24.10. I am moving a friend from iCloud to Immich to save some money. I've been doing this by downloading their iCloud photos/videos into a local directory, from which I run
immich import . This worked out great, but I did this by downloading everything from iCloud into a single folder without any album information. It was simply every photo/video from their iCloud in a single folder, organized by year/month, and I imported these into the Immich library as-is.
Now I want to recreate their albums in Immich. I downloaded all of their albums into directories, but these have duplicates to the library I just imported. Will immich map existing photos into the imported album in place of a duplicate or will it deny the duplicate and the photo/video will go missing from the album?4 replies
