the linuxserver.io digikam docker image has the exiftool cli already installed so i just used that. now i have to figure out how to bulk change multiple files...

Hi for anyone searching this issue in the future, i managed to change that specific tag using exif tool: exiftool -api QuickTimeUTC "-CreateDate<Filename" VID-20170714-WA0019.mp4

also @TastesLikeShit just checking that you're putting the /api in the app's server endpoint? i believe you can't just put in the subdomain alone

is the IMMICH_API_URL_EXTERNAL needed? I used Immich with Caddy before and didn't need that environment variable and my mobile app worked fine

changing the time date metadata of images works fine, it's only videos that aren't being updated in immich

I've also turned off transcoding in case the transcoded video didn't have the updated metadata but that didn't fix it

so would changing the time date metadata on the image directly (no sidecar file) without re-uploading cause the database to be out of sync?

does immich calculate hash in a different way than merely running the sha1sum command (which appears to not care about metadata)?

I was under the impression from your first message that modifying the image time would change the hash, which would cause the database to be out of sync

Hi @jrasm91, I'm experimenting with DigiKam and used Post-Processing>Adjust Time Date tool to change the date to the date in the filename. I calculated the SHA1 hash of the image before and after and saw no change. Is this supposed to happen?
