Quick question, does the partner sharing create a copy of the files or a reference to them?

Is that something you could see that you guys might add in the future or do you think it's too unique a use case? Honestly? Cuz if you think you might do it, I'll keep pressing and then maybe be able to migrate in the future, otherwise, I'll look for another tool

I do love how this works and think it's a great tool. The UI is very friendly. I wish I knew TS so I could help you guys with it.

So what would be ideal for me is a separate path entirely for /videos and /photos. Also, leaving the username/id off would be preferred.

My plan for this is using Immich primarily as automatic upload tool for my wife and kids and their devices. That way when they take a picture or upload a video it will automatically upload it to my server, then when I open Plex, I can watch a new video that my toddler took. And I can also point my cloud backup software to that path and have it backup all those videos.

Yeah, it would technically work, but not optimal. The reason is that the Plex agents are picky to file types and since there is also the added complexity of having the users in the path, I'd have to select a higher directory for the agent which means they would be crawling all the image paths as well.

Looks like that paths have changed a little since that version. If I linked the /photos/encoded-videos path to the appropriate path on my system it would work, but that is just the encoded video...I want the raw video files. So if I upload an MKV Immich transcodes to MP4, but then I'm likely to lose fidelity. I want the raw file to go to specific location and the pictures to go to a different location. The idea is that if I setup a Plex or Jellyfin server using these same paths I can setup a personal/family library for the files that Immich uploads. I don't really care about the encoded files.
