hmm, they're both uploaded to the synology nas in the same way - both through the respective apps, nothing copied directly

Ok, which field is used by immich?
The photo on the left is the photo information from immich for the photograph.
Is it worth me looking at a photo from whatsapp that has uploaded correctly to compare the information from an exif app?
What would you recommend be the corrective course of action?
The photo shows correctly in synology phots

ah ok, I don't think I've ever noted that setting, so they'll be sent via the default settings.

A range of iphones mainly. Some of the pictures that are out of sync are shared via whatsapp, but not all whatsapp shared photos are out of sync. I know that whatsapp strips metadata, but it hasn't been an issue until recently, and it's not all whatsapp images.

I only have 1 device that uploads at the moment. I can't really see a pattern, it's predominately older photos being placed incorrectly, baby photos next to kid photos, Christmas photos in March

I’ve tried for the best part of a day to get power tools to work, but to no avail. It’s in the same stack as Immich server etc. as a side not I also have a magic mirror dashboard and use Immich as the background, but since replying Immich it no longer displays any images 😫😫😫

So whilst the install of immich is now in portainer, the original issue is still present. I was hoping that starting from fresh would mean all the photos were uploaded correctly, but I still have photos that are between 1 and 5 years old uploaded in the incorrect timeline, looking at the metadata, it shows incorrect data, but I've no idea where it got these from an example of this is photos taken at Christmas 2023 in March 2024 and April 2024, along with photos from before Covid lockdown in the UK, also in April 2024. I know I shouldn't rely on immich as my only backup, but it was my step away from google photos, it also used to work flawlessly. I'm not sure where to start.

oooh, interesting, I think the facial recognition was excellent, before something went wrong with my previous install and it stopped doing it all together

yes they both exist, but they needed the 'volume1' adding: volume1/Data/immich

Ok, I have created /Data/immich/uploads and /Data/immich/db, and written those in the env file, however it's now erroring telling me /Data/immich/db doesn't exist
