External Library created without Error, but Scan doesn't find any assets

do you also have RAW photo files in your external library? just trying to understand if this new feature does not work at all or just have issues with RAW formats

Yes, there is a Security Considerations section in the documentation. It would be great if it was highlighted with "CAUTION" styling as well since it is very important.

Because I want to completely transition to using new "Libraries" instead of "Read-only Gallery [Experimental]"

@etnoy can you suggest if I should remove the path in Account > Manage your account > EXTERNAL PATH settings before the update and then after updating to the latest version add this path as a new "External Library" in new settings? I'm just afraid to get any duplicate data both in postgres or somewhere else for the same library or existing photos and videos.

now we do not need to run CLI command and can just click "Scan All Libraries" button in settings to import any new files added right?

by the way on this topic as well, have you added support for Sony raw photos for this "external libraries feature"? I remember when I tried the last time this import using CLI it did not work

@Alex @etnoy Hi, thank you so much for your reply. The last time I updated was 2023-09-15 19:49:03 so currently I'm on v1.78.1 I guess worst case scenario I will need to reprocess and reindex all files again? even though I have 76K files I'm ok with that since I remember it did not take too long.

Got it! Im gonna wait for RAW support via CLI I have another question. Is there any way to override the --import prompt with 'y' by default and to import library without asking this question? I'm trying to connect Alexa voice assistant to run Immich CLI import command, but this prompt is breaking the flow.

Alex, sorry for bothering you again. I'm a typical newbie 🙂 What will happen if I delete some of the folder/photos from the earlier -imported library? Will Immich detech their deletion and automatically remove them from the Immich database/timeline or I will need to manually find all of them and remove from Immich? I'm just thinking to generate .JPG proxy photos from my .ARW raw files now, import them to Immich and then after CLI will support raw files I will remove proxy .JPG files and import RAW files instead.

Bulk upload tool does not found .ARW files.

Thank you for your reply! That is great to know that Immich has these libraries. I will wait until CLI will understand ARW since I have 30K raw photos and it will be easier to "import" them.

Can't wait for this. Also, does it mean if I manually upload ARW files using web browser Immich will process Sony raw photo files?
