intense input lag spikes (pc / gnome DE / KB+M inputs)

title sums it up mostly. i have random, intense input lag spikes playing different games. the mouse responds normally, but keyboard inputs are massively delayed, think 3-5 seconds. this persists for minutes at a time. during low stress situations it is fine, when only a few keystrokes happen now and then, like running straight forward in a shooter, but when it gets hectic it basically queues up all inputs and plays them back with a large delay. there is no discernible (to me) cause or situation when this happens, most of the time everything runs smoothly regardless of how much is going on. games i experienced this with:...

Dock firmware updates won't go through

Hey, I'm having issues applying Steam Deck dock firmware updates in gaming mode. Are there any ways to troubleshoot or workaround this? It's a fresh bazzite GNOME install fyi. Thank you!

I get a weird error whenever I'm installing Bazzite

I configure 3 partitions on my boot drive, /boot, /home, and /, 1 partition on my 4 TB HDD /bulk, and a partition on my 4 TB SSD /game. I start installation, and it gets up to the left screenshot and hangs for like 10 minutes before erroring on the second screenshot. When I look at the error log it's a bunch of python errors followed by "Operation Denied: /mnt/sysroot/bulk". I'm wondering if I'm not being allowed to install Bazzite because of a Python error or because there's an issue with one o...

bazzite will only boot to black screen. Ctrl alt f2 will not get me to terminal.

Just rebooted my legion go and now cannot get back into bazzite. Have tried rebooting a handful of times and intermittently I will get a message that systemd-logind.service user login management service failed to start.

Bazzite constantly crashing

Hello ! I am a complete Linux newbie that made the switch to Linux from Windows yesterday. I was really tempted by the Bazzite's positive buzz on the internet. I flashed a USB drive and installed the system on my 250 GB M2 SSD. I wanted to use the other 2 TB M2 SSD for games and programs but have no idea how to use it in Linux despite formatting in btrfs and creating a partition :-(. My main problem is that the system crashes all the time when I launch Steam (either the pre-installed one or the one from the Discover app that's a flatpak I think) or even when I casually browse the net on Vivaldi. A crash occurs sometimes a second after trying to open one of those apps, sometimes it takes a few minutes. Sometimes right after I click download on any Steam game. I managed to even launch Half-Life once and played for 5 minutes until the screen just went black with just the cursor visible and then I couldn't do anything and had to hard reset the PC....

Trying to get Waydroid to work on NVIDIA using Software Rendering

My friend that just started using Bazzite wants to play some games using Waydroid, but she has an NVIDIA GPU, so we enabled software rendering but we still keep getting this EGL error (screenshot attached). Is there a way to get Waydroid with software rendering working on Bazzite?

Disable Auto-login on bazzite-deck

I really like the bazzite-deck gamemode, because the Steam Overlay is more reliable and it just seems to work better than using Steam on the Desktop. I want to use my computer as my daily driver with a lock screen and only access game mode when I want to play games. From what I understand, to do this, I need to somehow disable auto-login, but I cannot seem to figure out how to do this. Is this a good idea? If so, how would I accomplish this?...

Update steam from gamemode does not work.

When trying to update steam from gamemode on steam deck it failes with message: UPDATE ERROR "Am error was encountered during the update process, please try again."

Solution:

However, I just found that my EFI partition was full. That partition needs to be written to before a firmware update it seems. expanded from 64 to 128MiB to be safe and the system updated no errors.

Black screen after boot screen

Hi! I wanted to update my OS to the new version, so last week i clicked on the System Update app, but nothing happened. No downloading, no installation. I waited some time, but closed the app in the end. I use the deck image on my HTPC and i switched back to gamemode and started playing. On the next day after the boot screen the screen turned black. I can not boot into my PC ever since. What should i do? Did i fucked up my OS?

It seems that bazzite is using more and more disk space. I think this is because the rollback options correct me if I am wrong. Is there a way to force clear the space for this?...

GNOME, Desktop, Nvidia and flickering.

Everything is flickering like crazy, letters are going in and out of existence in many apps on my fresh install. (Not a VM). I'm kind of new to Linux. From what I can tell I should switch from Wayland to X11. But the menu option to switch on the login screen does not seem to be an option for me. Is there a way to fix this?

Steam Disk Write Error when game is running (Bazzite Desktop)

After launching a game, while the game is still running if I go to the download section on Steam, the game will show up there with "Disk Write Error". After exiting the game, the error will disappear and will just show the "Play" button. This is happening on all 4 of my drives including the Bazzite drive. Not sure if this is a bug or not. Drives are mounted as BTRFS. Permissions are set to everyone, "No update of file access times" enabled, with options: noatime,lazytime,commit=120,discard=async,compress-force=zstd:3,space_cache=v2,nofail,rw,exec. No issues running games. ...

Solution:

Looks like a Steam bug. Goes away when having the Cache enabled. I think Steam is trying to download the Cache when it's disabled resulting in an error.
