anyone have any recent experience with spier and mackay's made to measure? i have weird proportions so im thinking of going with them, but i haven't seen many recent experiences + im afraid its one of those brands that got worse over covid

long story short, i'm going as a mobster for halloween and i'm a tryhard. so far my costume is basic tailoring, dress shoes & fake gold jewelry, but it doesn't feel like its 100% there yet. i think the fabric of the coat, shirt cuff and the jewelry and etc. hit the spot perfectly(pic 2), but the jacket is a bit tight up front (hence the button extension) and i'm unsure about the tie/shirt pairing. what might help nail a 60s-80s mobster look? i'm not gonna go ballistic because its a costume for a...

Can someone whos 5'7 pull of a long coat
Whats everyones opinion on someone who's 5'7 wearing long coats like the one in the image can it look bad as I've heard it can look like the coat is drowning you but then others say it makes you look more elongated if worn correctly so im abit confused.

Heyo, on the hunt for a new pair of black trousers (preferably a polyester / lighter material) after my shinya order got cancelled. For the longest time I was rocking a pair of Acne trousers but unfortunately I effed em up in the washing machine lol. Preferably on the wider side, ultimately just want them straight legged. Opened to any sort of interesting pleating, detailing, etc. :P
What shoe polish for Grant Stone loafers in color #8?
Hey everyone, I've got some relatively new loafers from Grant Stone in #8 chromexcel. I know Saphir makes an actual #8 cream for shell cordovan, but my dad told me that back in the day they'd use black polish on cordovan shoes, deepening the red/burgundy color that it starts as. I'm also wondering if these #8s from Grant Stone is not as dark as say Alden cordovan No. 8, which at least on Alden's website looks significantly darker, almost black.
Shirt-Pant-Shoe Interactiom
Wore the Harvesty Wide pants (https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1135916565183856660/1295931592232927273 pictured left) today to gauge if they're viable for anything beyond wearing over other pants, and this is what I managed. Because of their long rise and short inseam vs my long pelvis and long legs, intentionally cropped fits felt like the best move (and even then, the pants are fairly low on the hip)
I don't feel great about this, and in part because I think the easy way to resolve those feelings is "wear a normal length pair of pants" and/or "wear no vest" which imo both make this a fundamentally different fit, but I'm prone to malding so I figured I'd throw it to the wolves.
