DH Overloaded
Hello all, I'm getting this message when flying or sometimes just running through the world.
Playing on a server (i have admin) but really know close to nothing about all the solutions the message gives.
Could anyone please explain in other terms, or step by step how to deal with this, TBH the message is more inconvenient than the actual issue.
Message in question:...
Using older mod version on servers
I can't seem to find this anywhere online. It says on Minecraft's patch notes that 1.21.1 should allow 1.21 mods, but when I tried, it didn't work at all. Now that I'm trying to go back to 1.20.1, I see that there's a 1.20.6, and I'm unsure if servers just generally wait until all their mods are updated to a new version or just change the mod's version and hope nothing breaks.
If I'm starting a server, should I just do 1.20.1 for now?...
Solution:
1.20.1 has the widest mod support
Looking for a way to turn rendering LODS off for certain dimensons
As the title states, I'm looking for a way to turn of LOD rendering for a certain dimension: Mining Dim and The Other from ATM9. I've tried a couple of things, including playing with the multiverse settings but unfortunately anytime I use any type of teleportation, I.e Wayshrine, "/home", or any other form of teleportation, DH will create a new Overworld file. This is also problematic for sharing LOD files, because unless I am in their local position, it will generate a new overworld folder for them. Currently, I am attempting with just continuously copying over the current LOD files to each new overworld folder it creates and this appears to be working, although this is a big ask for all current players to do. So I am looking for a way to disable DH from even attempting to load any LODS outside of the overworld. If this is possible that'd be great, or any other suggestions.
I also want to mention just how incredible this mod is, and I appreciate any help that anyone might be able to offer....
Solution:
Awesome thanks for the info. I've found a temporary work around that appears to work. I have teleport 100,000 blocks away in a single direction, and placed a mining dim portal. I have done this for every player so when they craft the portal, they give it to me and I tele them to a bedrock room with a waystone and a mining portal.
Distant Horizon Not generating chunks properly after using MCA Selector
I'm running minecraft 1.20.1 fabric with distant horizon and a few mods on my server which i've had no problem with for the past 4 days I played on it until recently. I have used MCA to delete some pregenerated chunks in order for ores introduced into the game by Modern Industrialization to actually spawn. Everything was okay until i loaded up the server and went to the newly generated chunk and looked back at my base to see the chunks were disappearing in a scattered manner just like in the pic...

DH doesn't seem to be doing anything, using an override to run DH on 1.21.1.
I briefly had it working and then tried installing the server fork onto a server I run from the same computer, after doing that I cannot seem to get it to work either in the server or singleplayer worlds. The game loads and I can access the settings, but the only chunks being shown in-game are the vanilla rendered chunks. The mod-list is attached.
I'm sure there is something silly that I've done and missed something simple, so I apologise in advance. (Thanks in advance as well!)
Side-note, complementary shaders are listed as supported, should complementary reimagined work then?...
Solution:
deleting the config file and loading back in has it working!

has anyone got this error?
The game crashed whilst exception in server tick loop

Not all LODs are loading
Only a small fraction of the LODs are loading. This is on a multiplayer server, and I have explored the chunks. This happens with or without shaders. Below are examples. My modlist will be posted below in a moment.
DH only loads already visited chunks even though I play singleplayer
Solution:
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:

clear LOD's
when I'm looking down from this hill I'm seeing clear chunks. this is only with shaders, however it doesn't matter what shaders I'm using, BSL, complementary, etc its al giving me this weird clear looking lod and its kinda annoying.
Solution:
There is an unofficial Lithium port for forge

GPU is crashing entirely
When I enter my SP world, after about 4 seconds my gpu crashes and restarts, causing a blackout on all my monitors and bugging other things like my browser bloating my memory. Here is the error log the console provided: https://mclo.gs/uSXrfJS
Crashes every time i attempt configuration
Total new here to minecraft modding, I have only Forge, Neoforge, Teralith and DH installed but i get below crash log when attempting configuration settings:

distant chunks are weird
Chunks in the distant are partly transparent for me any way to fix?
Bliss shaders, latest versions of all mods...

Clear Mountain Sides?
Mostly visible around the sides of mountains, the world generation becomes see through. If I increase my render distance to 20+ (I normally play at 12) it covers the clear chunks and resolves the problem, but tanks my fps (due to shaders and higher render distance). I am using BSL shaders and a lot of mods (most of them should be irrelevant to this issue). Is there a way to bring the LOD rendering closer to my character, or any other way to fix this issue? I can list installed mods if needed, th...

Question
Is distant horizon still in-testing and is it safe to use for PC (Like it wont overheat my cpu, gpu, ram, etc)
crashing on startup as soon as i added dh to my modpack with no clear solution
i just added distant horizons to my modpack and it started crashing on startup with this being the last and seemingly only evident reason as to why in the logs each time, and i dont it understand at all. even if i disable distant horizons in the pack it still crashes on startup with this same message. any ideas? did i miss something in the faq?

Dont know what mods are causing black LOD's
in the faq-problems-and-fixes they say that with this bug: Q: The LOD chunks are totally black, help!
A: This is generally caused by a mod that messes with the light map. Removing said mod should fix the problem.
they say that if you remove the ''said mods'' it should work but after I've deleted the only mod that was incompatible in my modpack, suplementaries, it still giving me the black LOD's. I hope someone has the solution so I can fully enjoy DH again....
Solution:
You will either have to update or regenerate the LODs for these chunks after removing the incompatible mod.
You can update them by breaking/placing a block in them.
You can regenerate them by deleting these files:...

Pre-existing chunks feature generation.
I'm attempting to get feature generation for existing chunks generated with the surface generator using the pre-existing chunks only generator. It seems to only generate features for about 1 chunk outside my render distance before continuing with some unfinished groups of chunks in the distance. How would I get feature generation to replace chunks already generated with surface generation?
Solution:
You would have to either delete the LODs for those chunks or go to every single one of them and update them by hand

Immersive portals + DH = No DH Fog 1.19.2
Any solution for this outcome? I saw a lot of posts about fog and such, but I havnt seen any correlated to this mod combo. Enabling Fog on and off within DH settings does nothing. No fog is visible except vanilla fog.
