Disk Space error

I'm trying to instal Battletech off of GoG heroic onto my steam deck (64 GB model). I change the install directory to my SD card (which has plenty of space), give it all the permissions with flat seal (other smaller games have installed an worked fine), but everytime I try to install Battletech it says "not enough space". I expect this is because it's trying to download the 14 gig installer and extract the 33GB game onto my home drive (which does not have enough space) before moving it to my SDcard. I can find the downloaded installation file and move it, but Is there any kind of setting or workaround I can use to force it to install from that file instead of downloading another one onto my home drive again (and thus taking up all the space again)?

oh well after several hours of messing up, I finally found out .sh is apparently an executable in linux and i can literally just run it after figuring out how to give it permissions

We can't give you more disk space out of nowhere. You need to clarify what exactly your problem is

If your disk does not have enough space left for the game you need to make some space on your disk then
