Wouldn't aluminum the better choice? The Rhino is already kinda heavy, compared to a "normal" base, plus the higher forces needed to operate it, that will put a lot of stress on the table/Mt fitting. I would expect to save as much weight as possible.
What dont you like about it that you would change? Seems pretty ideal unless you wanted to use a shorter extension because the long extension reduces the forces too much?
Yes, the Rhino works out of the box with Condor 2. You get stick movement with trim, stall buffet and possibly some stick force modulation with speed. But that's it. No speed-brake shake or ground roll/impact rumbles. It's not flashy, but it works.
That would be a question for the Condor developers. The Rhino presumably simply takes the force feedback signals from Condor and implements them. I think Walmis was talking about potentially developing some dynamic effects modelling that would read in things like airspeed, g-force etc. that would provide effects to games that didn't have FFB outputs, but that's probably pretty low on the priority list.
Ah, right. DCS has all of those, but it's dependent on the module developers which they put in. Am sure there's a thread somewhere in this discord that summarizes which effects are in which modules. The F-14, notably, is really rather lovely and they seem to have put everything in that.
I have been bugging ED for years about lack of consistency in FFB implementation, some mods have had better FFB implementation than the official content, and that to me is just sad, as the problem was only understood and felt by a small minority of players I guess they just haven't ever got around to fixing things properly.
Yeah we almost need to have a couple of developer rhinos so they can use them and post them around. I bet, apart from heatblur, they've never even used a ffb stick.
Are you sure about that? Condor 1 is as old as MSFF II and I've been playing it since then, jumping back and forth to real gliders. I haven't played C2 in a long time cause their VR support sucks and instead of fixing it they're working on C3 for years. I remember the effects being pretty good though, definitely loads up with airspeed, airbrake rumble and ground fx for the wheel and even the controls getting moved around in winds on the runway when not in motion.. am I misrembering here?
Hey @leninjahd, So the last Shipped RHINO is #0033 on 2023-01-04 Average waiting time from preorder to shipped is 88 days, median is 109 days, max is 177 days 29 Rhinos are shipped in total
I have a X570 A4 board and DCS does indeed crash when that effect kicks in (damaged bird, shaking). Maybe I'll try a dedicated pci USB board, someone posted here it helps.
