Thanks for the reply Walmis. It will probably be a little while before I order the WW F-18 grip and your adapter. Now that I've started building the new flight sim my credit card balances are quickly getting out of hand!
Just a thought guys (for now): I was told the following by someone claiming to be an ex A-10C pilot a few years ago, so this is not confirmed 100% true. Anyway I was told that a lot of fly by wire aircraft including the A-10 have a shaker attached to the stick that vibrates the stick to warn you of an impending stall. I think he said that's what the big growth on the stick right below the pinkie paddle houses.
So first, can anyone confirm this or even give us more info? And second, is there a practical way for us to add this to the VPForce effects if DCS doesn't already provide it? It didn't seem to work in the F/A-18 but don't trust my setup as I was in a hurry.
Anyway I know that this info is available via telemetry because SimShaker has a stall effect option. If it's impractical to add this effect to the FFB effects, I might actually install a shaker on the stick extension and use simshaker to run it LOL.
I'm glad you corrected me on the A-10 fly by wire thing @anthony6743 , that gives me one more reason to add it to my list of cockpits to eventually hopefully build!
Hey all, sry for the simple question. Iβve been reading as much as I can in these threads. Iβm looking at ordering a motor kit and building my own. Iβve looked at the few GitHub repos posted (I,e https://github.com/mabo1972/bldc-ffb-joystick-base and https://github.com/farm/bldc-ffb-joystick-base). I have a friend who can machine and print all the pieces in the repos. My question. Is there a good list of all the other parts that are required (power solution, buttons etc)? Any one posted more thorough descriptions that I can simply copy? Forgive me if itβs been posted and Iβve missed it. Iβm very new to this.
Stick shaker operation is a function of AOA vane, AOA indicator and interlocks with landing gear position and flaps switch. The mechanical stick shaker is mounted on the control stick just above the protective boot. The stick shaker provides mild agitation of the control stick 4 to 12 knots prior to wing stall in unaccelerated (1g) flight. Note that stick shaker is active only during landing approach configuration (landing gear down or flap switch in full down position).
Just finished building the plywood version as a prototype in MDF. A few small things I still have to adjust. Will publish the complete BOM then. The SheetMetal version will follow later.
Unless you have an extension you cant rotate it to the correct position. I also have the winwing and prefer it over the TM but these are minor niggles really

@walmis any chance we could change the gun vibration to longitudinal (forward/backward) movement only? At the moment it feels like a diagonal movement. I think forward/backward might be more realistic?
Also stores/bomb drop maybe a lateral movement might be more realistic?
