I did not dig into it yet, but it is possible to implement moving trim for modules which should have and doesn't support it (like the harrier and the mig-19...yes all by razbam)
Well I think maybe you should get in contact with razbam as my IFE friends showed me it's easy to implement moving trim...with the 339 they did just in one hour work
RAZBAM, I asked them on their Discord about what FFB the F-15 E will come out with, his reply gave me no hope, he wasn't even sure if the F-15 was fly-by-wire or not, it's not only the newest Saudi version is. When I told him it wasn't fly-by-wire he informed me I should do the research of what effects the pilot would of felt by asking people in their discord, yeah so very low expectations from Razbam. Although now that Walmis has made this awesome DCS telemetry effects app I guess it doesn't matter what they do or don't add
For A/C where trim works by moving the stick could we eliminate the game entirely and just bind the trim keys and use that to move the virtual center point?
Then we could use something like the spring effect to give more force needed for greater deflections and still “feel” trim by moving the neutral position
this is an entire can of worms - you have to search through module lua files: for example cockpit arguments are listed in (for mig-21) "DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21bis\Cockpit\mainpanel_init.lua"
OMG. you are a hero for doing the planes you already did. I have written some lua files for the streamdeck plugin CTytler made (This allows a streamdeck to receive data from the module in DCS , display the state of the control in DCS, as well as send data back to DCS to change the state of the control - like flaps, gear, etc). I can look at what you did and reverse engineer the source. There are several identifiers a button can have so it's not always straightforward.
Just asked a trim question on the Razbam F15E discord (seems have a few tossers over there).. so apparently the stick has autotrim, but also moves with trim input...
Hey @.flatspin, So the last Shipped RHINO is #0043 on 2023-01-31 Average waiting time from preorder to shipped is 116 days, median is 116 days, max is 196 days 40 Rhinos are shipped in total
Wrote Rust library to parse DCS-BIOS protocol, because (1) I wanted to do this once, and not have to endlessly check address, mask and shift in my high level language and (2) Rust is really cool and I wanted to show it off.
Initially, I thought that we might need to use the multi threading features of Rust, in order to maintain the k,v list of ...
Hey Walmis any chance of a eta for an installer for the DCS Telemetry app? I should be able to follow the install steps, maybe with some help, but I really have no experience with any of it & I would be just blindly following steps & having no idea if what I'm doing is right or not. Keen to finally start learning the F-18 but was keen to start it with all the ffb effects.
yeah I'm just not sure what it means by; "Open a power shell/CMD window" or how to "Clone the repository to your local machine" & not sure about "Install the required Python packages" so basically all the install instructions on the Github page lol
