Hello everybody, hello @walmis ! I'm noob here, and I'd like to thank you for all the great stuff you bring to the Air sim community ! I hope if a kit for Orion2 stickbase from WinWing will be available to buy soon
@walmis do you have a cad model of your board the motors/grip/usb/power go to? I can model a mockup for my own purposes but if a cool model of it already exists I'd rather use that. tia
Hey m8, the RHINO base will take the WinWing grips with the use of the adapter Walmis makes. A good idea might be to have the Winwing MFSSB & F-16 grip mounted on the right for flying the F-16 then you can swap the grip over to the center mounted RHINO for flying things like the A-10 etc. Apart from something like a MFSSB the RHINO plus it's adapters is truly the last joystick base you'd ever need.
Can you guys take my fear of breaking something on the rhino base due to heavy and intense dogfights? Can anybody share his experience with longtime use of the base? How durable is the base and the motors?
If something breaks, be assured that spare parts are available, and it's not too difficult to replace the gimbal Motors don't have any wearing parts, so should last indefinitely. At least I hope so
Gotcha! I had checked right after reserving a spot in the queue, but there wasn’t a S/N assigned at that point. Just checked again and it looks like I have #317!

Is there something specific you'd like to see? Mine is kind of hidden inside the pit and I'm terrible at taking pictures, if you just want to see pics of the Rhino Walmis has a lot better ones: https://imgur.com/gallery/Do6Jr0T
Several questions though: 1) how loud is it? There are several fans for cooling and I guess it's completely fine if it's something like 40mm or 50mm 2000rpm - but would be quite annoying if it's something like 40mm 4000rpm 2) I guess since US shipping is available - no issues with power cords? Asking because EU and US/Japan sockets are different. 3) Any recommendations how to use it if I don't want to build a cockpit? Based on size of this thing - it's definitely not table-top friendly, probably it should either go on some kind of chair mount or maybe floor with grip extender and some kind of heavy base?
1) I play with a headset on so I haven't heard a single noise from it so far. Walmis might be best to answer the specs about the fans 2) I'm in Australia & got the right plug on my power pack so I'm guessing US would be same? 3) If you wanted to mount this on a chair mount it would need to be a decent mount, the RHINO doesn't weigh a massive amount but it does have some heft. I have mine floor mounted with a 200mm extension. My temporary solution for floor mounting was to get a length of checker plate metal (I had this lying around you could use a sheet of plywood) that goes from under my chair to under my rudder pedals I have the RHINO center mounted & my rudder pedals & chair keep it all in place.
