I'm also having issues performing a large initial backup of an iphone.
my parter has 25K items to back up for the 1st time
That error is just videos being stopped halfway while previewing from the web ui, shouldn't be a problem
its taking a long time to load the albums for the initial back up and when a video is being backed up, the back up pauses for a while

Video files are larger so it's expected that they'd take a bit longer
I got this log from microservices
Looks like the server crash on reading a corrupted file 🤔

Yes i just updated the immich stack

No it didn’t
I checked the logs
I just removed the stack and started them up again

I’m trying to back up my partners phone and we always get this

so you selected Recent then return to this screen and this is what on the screen?
Often times I just go to this page and nothing shows up
It takes like 10 restarts to get it going
Maybe because I have 25K items to back up
Usually for the first time sign in for the new app, you will have to go to the album selection to choose the album for backing up before it showing up
My wife has like 15k assets and the load time was probably around 2-3s for this page to populate

so when it does populate it starts backing up
but then it stalls randomly
i have to press cancel and then start again
regardless if its a video or an image
Probable check your disk io to see if there is bottle neck somewhere

Monitor disk io while things are being backup

I use Promox so I can see it on the web ui

I think there is iotop program

this is disk storage
this io is the write and read rate
if it reach the limit then all of the io operation will be very slow

I’m having issues again with immich backing up all photos but there is still a slashed cloud
I tried pressing the thumbnail button in the job section, but it didn’t work
I think this is local storage on mobile app issue.
As long as it backup eveything I wouldn’t worry about this cosmetic bug too much
We will find the root cause later

got a little bottle neck here
not a bottleneck, you need to remove the microservice container agian
