If you mean accessing bindings in next devnext dev for development, I would suggest sharing more information about your need and use case in https://github.com/cloudflare/next-on-pages/issues/271.

Otherwise, the only way would be to use the watch mode.

There is no functions directory or anything like that in nextjs apps on pages, only the nextjs API routes. So I'm afraid not. It's an interesting thought though, I mean, it's possible to add some sort of extra file that we would import from for it, but really, I think the best course of action would be using a separate worker to the nextjs app.

Dealing with using two different platforms solely because you need a separate worker for the queue consumer sounds like it'd create more of a headache than putting the queue consumer worker and the site in the same place

pages doesn't support adding queue consumers or scheduled cron handlers today - with that said, they are working on "convergence" of the two products (Workers & Pages), so this will become possible in some way

The runtime is not node, so NODE_OPTIONSNODE_OPTIONS will have no effect at runtime - you can use it at build time in CI if that's what you're referring to, although I'm not sure how much memory the CI instance is allowed to use before it's killed

Is there info on how Pages renders a site in terms of (a) incremental or delta rebuilds when content changes but the code base is the same, and (b) when the code changes and a rebuild is triggered off a branch change? We're using next, next-on-pages. If I'm building locally, there's the .next and .vercel directories that I believe help reduce rebuilds with caching/deltas? If we call a webhook to deploy again, will those directories be around to reduce rebuild time? (I'm still pretty new to Next in this way, so it's possible I'm confused.)

OK - so we're looking at a site that's like 8k pages of content. Of course editors want to 'publish instantly' as if it were still a CMS like WordPress or whatever. We're discussing a nightly rebuild, which sounds sensible given 8k pages will take time and the changes don't involve legal/regulatory/contractual publication speeds. Understanding this is a tiny bit of info, does this sound like we're not straying into the weeds? (We'd likely have a 'control panel' for editors to call a webhook in Pages for off-cycle site builds, but in general it would be a daily thing we think.)

There is no caching the build output to reduce build time I'm afraid. Builds are completely fresh each time, and this is something out of our control as it's Vercel's CLI that controls the building, we just transform the output into a format that works as best we can manage for us.

I would say that it probably sounds like SSR might be more a better option for your use case than 8k pages being statically generated if you are using next-on-pages

In case the information is useful to you, in Windows I do not recommend using Xampp to emulate wordpress, I recommend Laragon and the "Staatic" plugin to export the static version and upload it to CF Pages
