ADXL-345 problem

Hi there,
So I try to configure input shaping with my Adxl and got “Invalid adxl ID (got ff and e5) “
So what I have checked:
I wired it to the Rpi
Checked include boards/rpi/config and sensors/ rpi-adxl
Wire length. About 80cm. Checked faulty wire as well.

Still, no response when I try to run Measure_Axes_Noises. Please help

You have a wiring issue. Either you can spend a bunch of time trying to fix the cable you have, or you can make a new one with cat5/6 and know that your issue isn't because of the cable

solder short wires to ADXL (make sure they are good quality), then connect using fitting meant for moving (like jst-xm, microfit, etc)

You need to reference the chip name when querying if you don't do it like specified in the wiring diagrams (wiring the ADXL345 to the MCU). In this case it would be "rpi".

You are not using a toolboard so you can ignore it. If you are wiring it to the pi, you need to specify it like Mikel said, or wire it to your octopus and then it will work without specifying anything

Follow the wiring diagrams instead of improvising, that makes things a lot easier.

Oh, so that's why they use carbon fiber and aluminum to reduce mass on X axis. Which also reduce the force on Y axis too.
