btd6 crashing after update

when I run btd6 it crashes, giving the error shown in the image.
things I have tried:
-updating wine
-updating flatpak
-restarting the launcher

the OS is linux mint

Please update Heroic to the latest version
You're looking at Heroic's general log there, not the game log

as for updating heroic, I ran

flatpak update && flatpak install --reinstall com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl

flatpak update && flatpak install --reinstall com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl

not sure how to get a newer version of wine either, I ran sudo apt-get install winesudo apt-get install wine, but 7-34 is still the latest version that shows up in the wine manager

don't do that. just click the refresh icon in the wine manager if you don't see anything newer than 7-34
