Any suggestions or inspo on how to style a blue navy peacoat with a more modern look?

What, in your mind, is a modern look? Pictures help.
not quite sure but most outfits I search up on google seem to to have that early 2010s MFA look. Is it because it's inherent for the peacoat to look kinda dated? lol.

yeah, imo peacoats are slim fitting and fit more into 2010s mfa wardrobes
