quick question: could you maybe make it a public bucket, hook it up to a custom domain and then access the files that way? I thought that was a solution for this kind of thing.

well i don't get it then. to download something from a server / serverless function. Something need to be running isn't it? if the fetch request take 0ms, what about the response time to the user? it's not counted in the workers duration cost ?

so @james8313 i believe this means that you'd only be billed for the time it takes the worker to retrieve the data from r2. once it starts responding with the data, the timer stops and you won't be billed for worker time anymore for that request

i guess one way to think about it is that once the worker starts returning the data, the actual worker code isn't running anymore, it's just a data stream

Why are some R2 features seemingly locked behind the S3 API?
Location hints, for example, can only be done in the dashboard or using the S3S3 API

Object lifecycles too.

I thought R2 was supposed to be an S3 alternative, why is it still mooching off the same tools?

The dashboard is using the only other option, the Cloudflare V4 API.

Wrangler could implement it too - since it's the same API routes and payloads - it just, well, hasn't.

The dashboard can be changed at any time along with the APIs so stuff tends to not land in Wrangler (or the publicly documented API) until they're stable - but some things that have existed for years, like Bot Fight Mode, also aren't documented so take that with a grain of salt.

what is a GB-s in terms of unbound worker billing? (we're using a worker in front of R2 which is often returning a response from cache.match()) ... is unbound a better plan, given its 15c per million requests vs 50c per million for bundled? but bundled includes 10m to start vs 1m to start for unbound?

Hi! I want to implement pre-signed urls so that it expires after some time, similar to what we can do with S3.
Like this:

I was researching this topic too but the GB-s is a bit of a vague concept. I'm guessing the wall time is another metric from the Median CPU time the dashboard is giving us?

I believe this costs around 0.50$ (because 1 million over the 10M) on the bundled plan.

But if I were to choose unbound it would cost 11 * 0.15$ and ~8 * 12,50 for the GB-s right?
So that would mean around a 100$ instead?
