Hell yeah. I’m probably gonna wear my Ranger Mocs tomorrow
I like my OSB mocs a lot. But the peanut suede is basically the same color as my snuff LHS. I think either ranger mocs or something more fun from Yuketen will be a replacement for them
What sole are yours on?
Mine are on the Vibram honey lug, which I love. If I ever need a resole, I’ll probably try a Lactae Havae sole.
Yuketen is super fun. Now that they’re doing MTOs again you can go real crazy with them too.
Course, Rancourt will also do an absurd amount of MTO options
I haven’t worn thru a LH sole but the ones I felt were very spongy which is probably comfortable but I’d be curious if it lasted even one season tbh
That being said, I’ll probably resole my loafers on the LH just to try it
Oh shit yuketen MTO
Yeah I don’t currently have anything on LH, but I’ve tried stuff on with it that I’ve liked. That said, the Vibram honey lug is tough as shit so idk when they’ll ever need resoled
Is it comfy? It looks like it would be but I’ve never handled it
I want my mocs to be comfy af
It’s super comfy! Only reason I’d consider LH next time is so it would be like jelly
I have the loafer in LH. They lasted me quite a while before wearing down. I was wearing them at least weekly with quite a bit of walking (50% of walking indoor though) and only resoled after several years. Be warned though that I tried resoling during the second half of the year and it took more than 4 months to get them back.
How did they look? I feel like I’ve seen some lightly worn LH soles and they just look like trash
This is good to know. I have a decent amount of shoes and rotate heavily, so I’ll probably only end up resoling in a decade I think
6 months since replace. They dont get black or look grimey like other crepe - more of a dustiness that is less noticeable at different angles. Side profile contrast.
I bought a pair of their dirigio loafers and theyve held up pretty well
crazy pattern on those soles
Awesome! That looks nice and sturdy actually
I've been so disappointed in mine. The soles started peeling off immediately. I don't know if they cheaped out on them cause they were a pre-sale or what
Might just be a lemon. Have you contacted Rancourt about it?
Yeah. Too late to do anything. I have a pair of derbies from them that were great but unimpressed with these. Probably will do a resole with a leather heal but kinda sour on giving them money
I mean if they're delaminating they might help fix them. I'd probably just reattach the sole with super glue or barge cement
Been loving my Baxter moc's from the summer sale. I've been digging handsewn shoes but avoided mocs for years after suffering from cheap boat shoes. Hopefully the LH sole lasts a while, it's been a blessing during the break-in period
Just wondering when does Rancourt usually do their pre-order campains?
They are running one now, and also did one at the beginning of the year.
Ah good to know thanks
Just wondering how easy are these shoes to resole. I was considering picking up a pair but I'm worried that I could not get them resoled in Europe
Dunno, but I think you can send them back to Rancourt to be resoled.
Sure that would be very expensive though
I'm not sure a local cobbler would be significantly cheaper, apart from shipping. I think you need a special machine to sew the sole. I'm really not sure though.
I feel like there's a lot about resoling shoes, but not many people have actually done it. Maybe I'm mistaken tho
I guess shipping would be 80$ alone
If you buy enough shoes you never need a resole 😉
Also Rancourts resole is only $120
That’s so cheap for a good resole
OK, that's a really useful yardstick. So a resole is not cheap.
No, because there’s fewer and fewer cobblers out there

I LOLed at "dedicated Tyrolean reenactor"
That line always gets me
for stuff like the camp mocs most competent cobblers should have the McKay stitcher needed. the harder part might actually be finding a camp sole.
