can anyone help me learn how to edit videos?

I use the editing program that’s already built into my laptop, but I can use any free editing program tbh
I would recommend the editor Davinci Resolve. It’s free and there are tons of tutorials on how to use it on YouTube. Just make sure the tutorial is for version 18 because that’s the latest one

i also have a really hard time editing, but i decided not to go to da vinci or premiere at first, i went to cap cut (desktop edition) and it has been really helpful in learning the basics to then migrate to davinci or premiere
Cap cut is a really good start for learning the basics. Davinci resolve is the next step up and a really good free option. Premiere pro will give you the widest range of capabilities and highest potential but can be intimidating at first. I started in this order and still watched countless videos for every question I had. But that's it, there's practically a video for every question you'll have. As all things go, practice makes progress and with each edit you'll find something to improve upon.

General video editing
i use power director and just do some simple splits and trims, I’m also a gameplay/review kinda guy so I don’t have to use many effects/memes to make my videos pop
I’m sure there’s plenty of videos on YouTube. TikTok can also be an extremely useful place if u use it well
