Advice on cost/benefit of similar light workwear jackets from Sunspel and Uniqlo

Hi,

I found two light jackets heavily discounted in my size that have quite a similar design. The two brands are quite different obviously. The Sunspel jacket ($94 pre shipping) is a navy 76% cotton/24% linen from Velcorex (also has horn buttons which is a nice touch) while the Uniqlo one ($15 pre shipping) is just cotton. Any ideas on if the Velcorex fabric is more breathable, and which jacket is better cost/benefit? Also please don't make the sales out of stock

The cotton linen blend will always be lighter/more breathable whether that's worth the extra 80 bucks is up to you honestly. How they fit plays the biggest factor imo

There's a pretty big difference in materials here. The sunsepl is cotton/linen and the uniqlo is cotton/polyester. The sunspel will probably work better in warm weather, and will drape better. The Uniqlo jacket will have more structure.

My guess is that the Sunspel one will fit better as it's not as relaxed a cut as the Uniqlo jacket (I tried on a size S pure linen version in the Sunspel store so I have some idea on the fit). I have a relaxed Uniqlo short sleeve button down that I like but it's more like baggy than relaxed lol (could be beneficial for keeping cool in the heat however)

went with the sunspel one. I don't see how SSENSE is making money on this sale, I see more expensive pricing for the jacket used. thank you to both of you for your help!!

They probably aren't making money on it, but it beats having it sit around in their inventory. At a certain point you have to move things at a loss.
