Star Wars The Force Unleashed II not starting (Amazon)

After getting SWTFU 2 from prime gaming yesterday I sadly cannot play it.

I've done my fair bit of trouble shooting, here is the gist:

Doesn't work on Proton 7, 8, Experimental even after installing the dependencies citing "SteamAPI_IsSteamRunning()" failing
Doesn't launch when setting the custom exe to "SWTFU2.exe" citing "No game match"
DOES however launch using either when using "Run exe on prefix"
Using Wine instead of Proton, even with setting up using winetricks, has led nowhere
Issue appears in Heroic, launched from the Steam shortcut and in gaming mode
Troubleshooting steps on the Discord haven't helped

I've attached the game log files for the easiest to reproduce instances

considering that Proton does not work for Amazon games via Nile, you may need to revisit the guidance

I just cleared the prefix, verified files and using wine-ge-proton8-14 am getting in game now with the same setup as earlier.
Also didnt need to manually install the dependencies, thank you guys a lot! Wouldn't have tried again without your motivation :)
