Named Groups / Saved Selections
3ds max has always had a feature to quickly save the current selection to a list and give it a name. It's something you use all the time and it enables quite powerful workflows.

We have layers, and I'm already adding the ability to give them names. Do saved selections enable anything above layers that justifies the extra complexity of having two similar features?
