Wool pants/trousers recommendations

Hi everyone. I'm currently looking for a grey pair of pants/trousers that are ideally casual and formal to maximise versatilit (either style is fine). I already got Uniqlo Smart Ankle Pants Woolike (since I love their cotton counterpart) and Land's End Men's Traditional Fit Wool Dress Pants in mind so far. Thanks! P.S. what are the other colors that are perfect for the fabric?

Which currency I had 75$ USD in mind but increase it to 100$ USD if the good options are scarce under the 1st budget

I'm also interested in this question generally. I think under $100 USD is very tough for new wool (as opposed to wool blend) trousers. New, Land's End is probably the best option or Banana Republic on sale (their "Tapered Perfect Flannel Dress Pants," 100 percent wool, have been on sale under $100 for a while now, but many sizes and colors are sold out). One can find plenty of options on eBay or similar sites in various conditions from new to used at this price point, but one has to have brands & sizes in mind. I've seen Yoox suggested for new options from designer brands at steep discounts but personally, I find it very difficult to navigate, and I also prefer very high rises and straighter or more relaxed fits than what one finds there.

do you have opposition to wool blend? if I was spending <$100 (and maybe even if not) I might want wool blend I think I very rarely want full wool - some of my fav trousers of all time were alexander wang wool blend pants that were something like 50% wool / 45% nylon / 5% elastene I suspect a wool/cotton/acrylic/elastene blend would be fairly standard and fairly comfortable (fwiw, your other post here https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1146116763394773064 gets at this)

Everything wool related on BR Canada is either too expensive for my taste or currently on sale with almost all sizes already sold It's a new style that I want to combine with my mostly casual wardrobe which is why Uniqlo sounds so appealing for now. Land's End got my attention after checking the MFA picks file None whatsoever as long as wool is the dominant fabric and it actually looks like wool

This is the way. Just got a pair of Brooks Bros made from Loro Piana wool. They do need to be let out tho

I have those BR trousers from an earlier sale and the fabric is nice. Haven't actually worn them yet, because they feel more Fall and Winter to me.

Sorry to hijack along this but are orphaned suit trousers a bad idea to use with dress shirt and trousers? (No jacket)

Most suit trousers are fine to wear as odd trousers. Just need to match formality and intent with jacket, ie, your smooth worsted charcoal trousers might not pair well with your casual tan linen sport coat. OP, for colors, it depends on what you need. There is no single most versatile for everyone color and fabric.

I just happened to write this a few days ago to respond to a similar question. Ignore the bit about bespoke. https://www.styleforum.net/threads/best-fabric-for-bespoke-trousers.729291/post-11514157

Best Fabric for Bespoke Trousers?
Hi all, I am planning on getting some bespoke trousers made at a tailor in my area (NYC). I want them to be somewhat versatile, so that they could be worn with a sport coat/blazer or just a dress shirt, and work in most seasons (i.e., would rather have it be warmer than cooler, as nothing can...

But new trousers under $100 is difficult, very difficult, you're looking for sales, or compromises, or have good access to things made in much less expensive countries at local pricing. Second-hand is a fantastic option, I've gotten plenty of good stuff in the $15-30 price point. Big names and big brands, too.
