You can. The easiest way would be to use Dash Tunnels, since they don't need a global key

If you stuck a worker in the middle, you could do something like that with connect() and the DNS API

Yea it could do TCP, HTTP, and HTTPS, but the tcp would just be the handshake and not really making sure the mysql server can still execute queries

https://github.com/brianc/node-postgres/pull/2971/files is an example of what work was done for node-postgresnode-postgres to support it, so a MySQL library would need similar.
