I'd prefer to run as many packages as I can via nix instead of distrobox, precisely because they avoid the container overlay, but I was able to get the theming/cursor issues to be consistent between bazzite and apps in a fedora container by basically installing kde on the container using
sudo dnf groupinstall "KDE Plasma Workspaces" That may be overkill though.
